Minutes of the Committee Meeting held on Tuesday 14th November 2006 in the village hall

1106.01 Apologies: None
1106.02 Minutes: Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday September 26th 2006 were agreed as a correct record and signed.
1106.03 Matters arising: 1 Hearing loop: Marj
has placed an order and once the invoice has been paid, the goods will be delivered.
Under the Disability Act, this should be VAT free. Cheque for £206.30 to be sent.
2 Projection Screen: Marj will get a new catalogue from Supply
Zone. Committee members to research and discuss on next agenda.
3 New representative from Community Group: We will wait till Brenda
is able to attend to co-opt her.
4 Weather vane: Carol Peck’s phone number has been mislaid, Mike
will check with Barbara Dodds.
5 Kettle: Marj has ordered a 4 litre kettle for £49 from Searles.
6 Community Group notice board: The bowl’s shield will be put above
the present board , freeing up all the boards for notices.
1106.04 Correspondence: South Hams CVS pack.
1106.05 Treasurer’s report: SW Water is to be paid by D/D. Argos Fire Protection cost £60.74 for their inspection. We have the new certificate for the coming year. £500 has been transferred into the CAF deposit account. Charity Commission returns for the last 2 years are now up-to-date.
1106.06 Parish Council Report: The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee has contacted possible landowners and has been updating the register. Sue Hitchcock, the new Affordable Housing Enabler with CCD has suggested that BWPC do a housing survey and that Holne has a drop-in session in the village hall.
1106.07 Booking Clerk’s Report: Margie needs help with some jobs. Marj will deal with the calor gas. Gill S will wash tea-towels. Mike will ring SHDC re a grey bin for the rubbish, Maggi and Marj will put out for collection. After big events, all hirers are to be encouraged to take rubbish home to their own bins.
1106.08 Representatives’ Reports: Whist: Going well. PCC: Looking forward to involvement in Christmas Fair. After a discussion about the church having a village hall key, it was decided to leave the arrangements as they are. There were concerns about non-Trustees being key-holders, Gill G will speak to our insurers. Bowls: New members are needed or the group might fold. Coffee mornings: Fine.
1106.09 Christmas Fair: Mike is getting prizes for the raffle and auction. Stall holders: See previous minutes. Christmas garlands: Corynne/Margie Cakes and produce: Marion and Joyce Plants: Judy Henderson Peter will ask Bridget about selling jams. The children’s stall will sell small cakes made by the children. Judy and Moyra will be asked to help with stalls. Paul Ackey will sell church oak wood carvings, with money going to the Friends of the Church. Peter Vickery to be asked about decorations and Peter will put up fairy lights.
1106.10 AOB: 1 The shop: Gill S asked if we were using the shop to buy cleaning materials etc for the hall. It was agreed that we should ask Annette to get in anything that we need.
