2 The notes of the meeting on
3 Matters arising:
3.5) Letter to Scoriton
Landowner(19.02.08): Gill G had written to the landowner.
3.6) Letter to WMN(19.02.08): A
response had been received from Olivier Vergnault re our concerns.
4 Public meeting on 18th
March:
Debbie Holloway-
concerns were expressed about her comment that SHDC would choose who would get
houses.
At a Rattery meeting
it had been stated that families with children would get precedence. With the
survey results in mind, it would mean that all the houses could go to families,
with no childless couples getting them.
Land sales-if land is
being sold at a cheaper rate for affordable housing, the landowner would
presumably want to ensure that the houses were going for local need.
Allocation of housing
is so emotive, should we stand back from the whole process?
Action: Sue H to write to DNPA and SHDC to ask
1)how tight the 106 agreement could be, to include the local connection 2)about
the points system

Housing Association Partners are
5 Housing Need Survey
Results:
a) The surveys had
been formally accepted by HPC and BWPC.
Action: Sue H to complete the final document which
will be both surveys combined. 1 copy each to DNPA and SHDC, 2 copies to the
Clerk of each council.
b) Sue H had written
to all those that mentioned possible sites and had heard back from only one
person.
Action: Sue H to ask DNPA about the sites suggested
in the survey.
6 Housing registers:
To have a chance of
getting affordable housing, each respondent needs to go on SHDC Housing
Register. We would also like to update our own Housing register.
Action: Sue H to write to each respondent, asking
them to contact SHDC and our clerks.
7 Meeting with
Possible dates are
10/11/17/25th June. Action: Gill S to
contact Frank Niering.
8 Publicity:
After a discussion, it was agreed not to put draft meeting notes on the
Holybrook Exchange/HPC website until after they were approved.
Action: Sue H to draft an article for
Parish Link and Buckfastleigh Newsletter.
Gill S to send Sue the email addresses.
9 Action plan for next steps:
See above items.
10 AOB
1) Do we need another member on our committee? Following a discussion, it
was decided against asking anyone else, apart from a 2nd person from
Scoriton, if anyone volunteered.
2) National Housing Programme for funding. Should we contact them?
Answer: not yet.
3) Information on
a) We can google Community Land Trusts.
b) Chudleigh Town Council-Action: Gill G will contact Philip Vogle who
is an advocate for Land Trusts.
