Minutes of the meeting held on October 12th 2006 At The Tradesmans Arms, Scoriton

1 Apologies: Andy Dinning (attended for 5 minutes) Belinda Owen

2 Minutes of the meeting on June 15th 2006: These were agreed as a true record and signed.

3 Correspondence: - Community Land Trusts: An option for Affordable Housing in South Hams? Gill G and Mike agreed to attend. - First Step Homes document: no action

4 To confirm members meeting with Chris France (DNPA): Paul, Andy, Gill G and Gill S will attend the meeting on Thursday October 19th.

5 Bridford: This meeting had been cancelled and Gill G will ring them to re-arrange.

6 Update of housing register: Paul read out a letter to go to everyone on our register, requesting an update of their details. All agreed the letter. Paul to send out. There are 11 families/individuals on the register.

7 Letters from potential land owners: Richard had received about 15 replies, most of whom were in favour of offering land for housing. Two were firmly against, 4/5 ambivalent. Replies to be discussed at the next meeting.

8 Publicity update in Parish Link, HPC website and Holybrook Exchange: This will be discussed at our next meeting.

9 Affordable Housing Sites to visit: - East Allington. Paul will contact the clerk of East Allington. - Whiddon Down. Gill G will investigate a possible visit.

10 Finances: Small receipts will be given to HPC for re-imbursement. Gill S agreed to continue doing the minutes/agendas. Action: HPC to write to BWPC re sharing costs.

11 SHDC survey: HPC had asked for the results. No result received yet.

12 New affordable Housing Enabler for DCC: Sue Hitchcock is the 2nd Enabler. She had asked whether we would like to do another housing survey, now that we have a shop. Action: HPC to write to Sue Hitchcock re joint survey with BWPC.

13 AGM: It was agreed that this committee would like to be involved in HPC AGM in May and perhaps we could get a speaker about Affordable Housing.

14 AOB 1 DNPA Strategic Plan for the next 5 years: Holne has been included as one of the 16 designated housing needs settlements. 2 Housing Matters: Andy will contact this private firm to see if they can come and speak to us.
